I Want My Baby-Back Ribs!!!

I love to eat Ribs!!! To make it even better, my father makes the best ribs known to me and my family. Dad takes pride in making his ribs. A good batch of ribs of his usually takes about 2 1/2 hours to cook this amazing food!! He first starts by prepping the grills.
we have two different styled grills. The one on the right is like the big green egg smoker but its called something dragon. I forgot the name really. The one on the left is your normal Weber charcoal grill. After the prep, dad unravels the amazing ribs and lets them climatize for at least 3 to 4 hours with his special seasonings on top of the ribs. After all that time, he finally puts the ribs on the grill!
These are what the ribs look like on the smoker. They have been cooking for at least an hour. No barbecue yet.
Dad preciously moves around the ribs so they get the best all around cooking value. Dad takes pride in cooking his ribs.
These are the ribs on the Weber. Dad likes to use the Weber because theres more room for more ribs and a lot easier clean up. The down side to these grills that they only last a couple years. We use the heck out of our grills. Cooking outside is what we do best! Dad trys to make ribs at least once a month or more. Summer time its like we have ribs every Sunday.
Beautiful looken Ribs!!!! The time a person puts on barbecue sauce is the last 10 minutes of cooking. Dad uses Sweet Baby Rays Barbecue Sauce. It brings out the most flavor in the ribs. There is trick when using barbecue sauce. To much sauce tell a person that you make some pretty sucky ribs! To little sauce means you ran out of sauce or your just an idiot for not putting any on. You have to find that prefect medium were is not too much or too little. Most people serve there ribs with a side of slaw or some type of greens. We go all out, French fries with are ribs. There is just something about it, it makes the meal even better.

Then when it is finally time to eat, the man of the hour enjoys his ribs with everyone! That's my dad, Steve, above, holding the an amazing rack of ribs.

Quality Food!

I love to eat good quality food! You can tell from my last blog that I like food! I have always had the thoughts of being a food critic, but all at the same time I would rather just eat the darn food and enjoy it instead of thinking about everything about the food and then write a paper or blog about it! Enough about my career choice, I love to eat good food! It’s hard to find a restaurant these days that has good quality food! I swear there starting to serve people crap on a plate! I don’t like to eat crap and a lot of people could agree with me! If I wanted to eat crap I could go to McDonalds and hit up the dollar menu and wont have to wait a half hour at a table! These restaurants should start to revamp their menus and quality of food they buy! Buy fresh foods instead of frozen food that hasn’t been fresh in months! I know even McDonalds could make a healthier menu and have better quality food. They should use actually ground beef like you get at the grocery store in the big packets! They could also use less oil in there food! I love deep fried food but I know they can use less oil. I have had deep-fried chicken that when you took a bite that you couldn’t even taste any oil! My dad makes some really good deep fries chicken at home that isn’t greasy at all when you eat it!! That’s how deep fried food should be! I have found out that good quality food can put years on to your life! My grandma lived to be 93 years old! She never ate crappie food and never and I mean never ate fast food! The doctors said she could of easily lived to be a 100! It was her time to go finally in October of 2010! That shows me that good quality food can make you live on hell of a life! Some say I’m a picky eater! I’m actually not. I will eat just about anything and I love to try new foods! I have had bizarre foods from deer heart to cow tongue to blood sausage to hotdogs! How much I eat and how often I should be the size of Texas! Well the only way I keep in shape is going to the YMCA to work out or even at home working out! If you’re a person that likes to eat good quality food then make sure you stay physically fit! So the next time you have dinner with your family, make sure it has quality food being eaten at the table.

Hotdogs!

I had no clue what to blog about for my first blog. I wanted it to be over a topic that was interesting to read but it would bore the common reader to death! So I was sitting at the basketball game on Saturday the 15th helping out with concessions. I pondered for a very long time. Then out of nowhere a peer asked me about what I thought about hot dogs. I told her everything I knew about them or what I have heard about hotdogs. So right there and then it struck me to write about those delicious hotdogs we like to eat at basketball and football games, we even like to bring them out when barbeques take place. This is what I know about hotdogs. I know the word hotdog came from the word frankfurter. I also know that when hotdogs were first produce, meat butchers used pig intestine to hold the meat in its cylindrical shape. That case of using the pig intestine is really used anymore unless if you get your hotdogs or brats from a meat locker that isn’t a notional chain, like Oscar Meyer. They don’t use it on certain hotdogs and brats. Now some say hotdogs are made up of left over parts of the pig, like its lips and butt hole. I really don’t think OSHA would approve on having hotdogs made from those parts. I could see back in the late 1800s and early 1900s meat plants and lockers making the hotdogs out of those very delicious parts! That was a time period where there was no OSHA program and people could do anything to your food and drink! The book "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair shows how the meat packing plants worked back then, it was really bad! Another thing is why do people smoother there hotdogs with ketchup and mustard! I think too much ketchup and mustard will ruin the great taste of a hotdog! Hotdogs are good even with out all that crap on it, people should just ask for a hotdog bun with crap ton of ketchup and mustard on it! And also I don’t get why people like sauerkraut on there dogs. I like sauerkraut and all but just not with my dogs! The really only one thing i like my hotdogs smoothered in is chillie! I love chillie dogs! There is just something about the taste that i like, its like a partable bowl of chilie except it on a bun with a hotdog in the middle of the chillie! Hotdogs are good and all, it just depends on how you look at it!
